- Midosuji Ave., the primary thoroughfare in Osaka, and Nakanoshima, the symbolic waterway of the city,
both welcome visitors from around the world as they become illuminated in a glorious display of light and color.
Midosuji Illumination 2020
The MidosujiAve. is an iconic street located in the heart of Osaka city. The section of the street that runs from Umeda through to Namba lights up in a dazzling display of light that creates a four-kilometer path of light, unmatched anywhere in the world, that warmly envelops pedestrians. This path of light was even recognized in the Guinness World Records as a world-beater in January 2015.

Nakanoshima is home to a number of buildings that have been designated as Important Cultural Properties in Japan including the Central Public Hall and Nakanoshima Library, and is a place from which a great deal of the city's art and cultural output originates. Nakanoshima Park, one of the most iconic landmarks of Osaka's waterways, will play host to a one-of-a-kind program of dazzling illuminations and light.
